Thursday’s card at Aqueduct Racetrack will be bolstered by a Pick 6 carryover of $51,725 after the multi-race wager went unsolved on Sunday’s nine-race program.
The $1 Pick 6 returned $8,620.50 to bettors who selected 5-of-6 winners correctly.
Sunday’s Pick 6 sequence kicked off in Race 4 as Yarrow [No. 6, $16.60] took a six-furlong turf optional-claimer for New York-breds with Manny Franco aboard for trainer Christophe Clement.
Four-time Eclipse Award-winner Chad Brown sent out the next winner with the Irad Ortiz,Jr.-piloted High Beta [No. 1, $4.20*], who captured a 1 1/16-mile turf maiden, in Race 5. One race later, the favored Masmak [No. 11, $6.80*] won a one-turn mile allowance with Hall of Famer Joel Rosario in the irons for conditioner Rick Dutrow, Jr., in Race 6.
In Race 7, the 1 1/16-mile turf $135,000 Forever Together, the Brown-conditioned Venencia [No. 3, $15.60] earned another victory for Franco. In Race 8, the 11-furlong turf Grade 3 Long Island, Be Your Best [No. 7, $21.80] went gate-to-wire under Frankie Dettori for trainer Saffie Joseph, Jr.
With 8-of-10 horses left uncovered in the Race 9 finale, a seven-furlong claimer, the Christopher Elliott-piloted and Marcelo Arenas-conditioned longest price on the board Last Glory [No. 6, $118] triggered the carryover.
Thursday’s Pick 6 will begin in Race 3 at approximately 1:10 p.m. Eastern. First post for the eight-race card is 12:10 p.m.
