Saturday’s card at Aqueduct Racetrack will be bolstered by a Pick 6 carryover of $18,243 after the multi-race wager went unsolved on Friday’s eight-race program.
The $1 Pick 6 returned $675.50 to bettors who selected 5-of-6 winners correctly.
Friday’s Pick 6 sequence kicked off in Race 3 with Chipotle [No. 6, $4.60*] taking a 6 1/2-furlong starter optional claimer with Raul Mena aboard for trainer Michael Gorham.
Conditioner Linda Rice sent out the next winner with the Eric Cancel-piloted Political Spin [No. 6, $7.40] capturing a one-mile maiden claimer, in Race 4. One race later, Legal Deal [No. 3, $13.20] won a one-mile claimer with Kendrick Carmouche in the irons for trainer Horacio De Paz, in Race 5.
In Race 6, De Paz doubled up as Blame It On Daddy [No. 7, $28.80] sprung an upset under Luis Rivera, Jr., in a one-mile claimer. In Race 7, a one-mile claiming tilt, Az U Chase Me [No. 3, $22.60] closed to victory under Sofia Vives for trainer Chris Englehart.
With the carryover already guaranteed heading into the Race 8 finale, a 6 1/2-furlong claiming sprint, the Cancel-piloted Willful Desire [No. 5, $9.40] prevailed for Rice’s third win on the day.
Saturday’s Pick 6 will begin in Race 4 at approximately 1:40 p.m. Eastern. First post for the nine-race card that features the $150,000 Jerome [Race 8], which offers 10-5-3-2-1 Kentucky Derby qualifying points to the top-five finishers, is 12:10 p.m.
