Fans save $5 on DraftKings Travers admission with advance purchase

The New York Racing Association, Inc. (NYRA) today announced that fans planning to attend DraftKings Travers Day on Saturday, August 24 will save $5 on general admission when purchasing tickets in advance.

The advance general admission price is $25. Admission on the day of the DraftKings Travers is $30.*

Tickets may be purchased in-person at the NYRA Box Office by Gate A at Saratoga Race Course or online at NYRA.com/Travers.

Gates open at 9 a.m. with a first post time of 11:40 a.m. Breakfast and tram tours are not offered on DraftKings Travers Day.

Kentucky Oaks and Coaching Club American Oaks winner Thorpedo Anna plans to take on Belmont Stakes winner Dornoch and the boys in the 155th running of the Grade 1, $1.25 million DraftKings Travers. Thorpedo Anna could become the first filly to win Saratoga’s premier event since 1915.

The marquee day of racing will feature four additional Grade 1 contests: the $750,000 Resorts World Casino Sword Dancer, a 1 1/2-mile turf route for 3-year-olds and up that offers a “Win and You’re In” berth to the Grade 1 Breeders’ Cup Turf; the $500,000 Ballerina Handicap, a seven-furlong sprint for fillies and mares awarding a “Win and You’re In” berth to the Breeders’ Cup Filly and Mare Sprint; the $500,000 Forego at seven furlongs for older horses; and the $500,000 H. Allen Jerkens Memorial for sophomores sprinting seven furlongs.

An expanded edition of Saratoga Live will begin at 11:30 a.m. on FS2 with continuing coverage on FS1 at 1:30 p.m. FOX Saratoga Saturday will present live coverage of the DraftKings Travers Day stakes action plus analysis in a special 3 ½ -hour broadcast on FOX beginning at 3 p.m.

The summer meet at historic Saratoga Race Course continues through Labor Day, Monday, September 2. Racing is conducted five days a week, Wednesdays through Sundays, apart from the final week, when the meet will conclude on Labor Day.
