Live racing canceled Friday at Aqueduct Racetrack due to property maintenance issue

by Pat McKenna

The New York Racing Association, Inc. (NYRA) has canceled Friday’s nine-race card at Belmont at the Big A due to an ongoing maintenance issue at Aqueduct Racetrack.

Earlier today, Resorts World Casino treated the roof with a product that has created air quality issues on the building’s top floor which is occupied by live racing officials. As a result, Friday’s card is canceled in its entirety.

Aqueduct Racetrack will remain open for simulcasting on Friday, and online wagering is available through www.NYRABets.com.

Friday's featured Listed $150,000 Glen Cove will be rescheduled.

Live racing at Aqueduct will resume on Saturday with an 11-race card featuring the Grade 2, $200,000 Sands Point in Race 5 and the $135,000 Floral Park in Race 7. First post is 12:10 p.m. Eastern.
