FS2 to provide coverage of Cigar Mile Day at Aqueduct Racetrack

Live coverage of the lucrative Cigar Mile Day card at Aqueduct Racetrack, featuring four stakes worth $1.2 million in combined purse money, will air Saturday, December 7, as part of a special America’s Day at the Races broadcast featuring the Grade 1 Mouttet Mile from Caymanas Park in Jamaica and the $150,000 Ring The Bell from Oaklawn Park in Hot Springs, Arkansas.

America's Day at the Races, the acclaimed national telecast produced by the New York Racing Association, Inc. (NYRA) in partnership with FOX Sports, will provide live coverage of the Cigar Mile Day card from 11:30 a.m. – 6 p.m. Eastern on FS2.

The Big A program is headlined by the Grade 2, $500,000 Cigar Mile Handicap presented by TwinSpires for 3-year-olds and upward traveling a one-turn mile and is supported by the one-mile Grade 3, $200,000 Go for Wand for fillies and mares 3-years-old and upward. Also featured are a pair of Grade 2, $250,000 nine-furlong qualifiers offering 10-5-3-2-1 points to the top-five finishers, respectively, for the Grade 1 Kentucky Derby and Grade 1 Kentucky Oaks in the Remsen for juveniles and the Demoiselle for juvenile fillies.

The broadcast will include a pair of graded events from Caymanas Park in Portmore, Jamaica, led by the Grade 1 Mouttet Mile Invitational, a one-turn test for 3-year-olds and up and the Grade 3 Chairman’s Plate Invitational. Coverage of Saturday’s 10-race program from Oaklawn Park will also include the $150,000 Ring The Bell, a six-furlong sprint for 3-year-olds and up.

Both the Mouttet Mile and Chairman’s Plate will feature in a unique Cross Country Pick 5 featuring races from the Cigar Mile Day card and a pair of allowance tilts from Oaklawn Park.

The Cross Country Pick 5 will kick off in Race 7 from Caymanas Park at 1:55 p.m. Eastern with the third running of the Grade 3 Chairman’s Plate, a two-turn 1820 meter event [nine furlongs and 25 yards] for 3-year-olds and up.

Leg E – Caymanas Park – Race 11 – Mouttet Mile – 4:40 p.m.

The America’s Day at the Races broadcast team will include host Greg Wolf with analysis and handicapping at the Big A from Maggie Wolfendale, Jonathon Kinchen, Sara Elbadwi and Eclipse Award-winning jockey Richard Migliore.

Viewers can look forward to commentary and insights onsite at Caymanas Park with NYRA’s racing analyst and reporter Acacia Clement alongside Sr. Racing Analyst Andy Serling.
