Disarm

Despite running a career-best speed figure in the Grade 2 Jim Dandy last time out, it still feels like Disarm disappointed a bit. However, he did finish just barely two lengths behind Forte and might still be improving as his speed figures have done nothing but increase over the last three races. He is clearly a horse that needs to be taken seriously in vertical wagers as he has never finished worse than fourth in his career and has hit the board 75% of the time. Trainer Steve Asmussen trained last year’s Travers winner, Epicenter, and it feels like Asmussen always gets the best out of his Gun Runner progeny having trained the sire to multiple Grade 1 wins at The Spa. As for Disarm, he will benefit from a stronger pace and should be an attractive price to use in exactas and trifectas.
