Donna Barton Brothers to Emcee Chaplaincy Brunch; Tickets, Sponsorships Now Available

The New York Race Track Chaplaincy announced today that NBC Sports horse racing reporter Donna Barton Brothers will serve as the master of ceremonies when the organization hosts its 17th annual brunch in Saratoga Springs, NY on Wednesday, August 14, 2024.

The brunch will once again be held at the Saratoga National Golf Club. Tickets and sponsorships can be obtained online by visiting www.rtcany.org or by calling 516-216-5196.

“This event attracts hundreds of generous supporters throughout the breeding and racing community and it allows us to further assist those who work there and their families,” said Board President Ramón Dominguez. “And we are honored to have Donna Barton Brothers as our emcee and Todd Schrupp as our auctioneer this year.”

Brothers won more than 1,000 races as a jockey and she has been part of NBC Sports’ Eclipse Award-winning horse racing coverage since 2000. She serves on numerous Thoroughbred industry boards and in 2011, she wrote Inside Track: An Insider’s Guide to Horse Racing.

At the brunch, Thoroughbred owner Len Green will receive the Marylou Whitney award for his ongoing support of the chaplaincy and its programs. Green is the owner of the D.J. Stable and the founder and chairman of the New Jersey CPA firm, The Green Group, specializing in tax, accounting and consulting especially in the Thoroughbred industry.

Also, for the first time, FanDuel TV personality Todd Schrupp will serve as an auctioneer. Schrupp is one of the members of the original FanDuel TV broadcast team (formerly TVG) and has been with the Eclipse Award-winning network for over 20 years.

Previous honorees have included: Tracy and Todd Pletcher, Andy Serling, Anne Campbell, Edgar Prado, Michael Dubb, Fay and David Donk, Marylou Whitney and John Hendrickson, Letty and Kiaran McLaughlin, Lisa and Kenny Troutt, Debbie and Terry Finley, the New York Thoroughbred Horsemen's Association, and Irad Ortiz Jr.

The brunch is one of two major fund-raisers hosted by the New York Race Track Chaplaincy in Saratoga Springs each summer. The other is the charity basketball game pitting horsemen versus jockeys on Thursday, Aug. 1st at the Saratoga Springs Recreation Center.

The New York Race Track Chaplaincy serves the New York backstretch and farming community with children's enrichment, teen mentoring, women’s enrichment, social service, recreational, and educational programming as well as non-denominational religious services.
