Friday’s card at Belmont at the Big A will be bolstered by a Double Pick 6 carryover of $101,783 after the multi-race wager went unsolved for the second consecutive card on Thursday’s eight-race program.
The $1 Pick 6 returned $878 to bettors who selected 5-of-6 winners correctly.
Thursday’s Pick 6 sequence kicked off in Race 3 as Skylander [No. 4, $9.50] took a one-turn mile claimer with Dylan Davis aboard for trainer Rob Atras.
Trainer Rudy Rodriguez sent out the next winner with the Ruben Silvera-piloted longshot Timia [No. 8, $49.60], who captured a one-turn mile maiden for New York-bred juvenile fillies, in Race 4. One race later, Fluid Situation [No. 2, $26.40] won a six-furlong turf optional claimer with Kendrick Carmouche in the irons for John Terranova, II, in Race 5.
In Race 6, a one-turn mile maiden claimer, Torpedo Run [No. 6, $9.50] earned Davis his fourth win on the card, this time for four-time Eclipse Award-winner Chad Brown. In Race 7, an 11-furlong turf optional-claimer, the favored Dancing Dean [No. 2, $3.20*] rallied from last-to-first under Junior Alvarado for Hall of Famer Bill Mott.
With the carryover already guaranteed heading into the Race 8 finale, a six-furlong state-bred maiden claimer on the grass, the Hall of Famer Joel Rosario-piloted and Mike Maker-conditioned My Life Story [No. 9, $9.20*] closed to victory.
Friday’s Pick 6 begins in Race 5 at approximately 2:46 p.m. Eastern with the Listed $150,000 Glen Cove. The sequence also features the $135,000 Carle Place [Race 9]. First post for the 10-race card is 12:40 p.m.
