The Honorable Miss is named after the Pen-Y-Bryn Farm’s multiple stakes-winning mare. Trained by Frank Whiteley and ridden by Jacinto Vasquez, the daughter of Damascus was 19-12-9 from 62 career starts, with earnings of $437,973. Often competing against males, in 1975 she won the Toboggan Handicap, the Vagrancy Handicap, the Gravesend Handicap and the Fall Highweight Handicap as a 5-year-old. She won the Fall Highweight again in 1976. First run in 1992, the Honorable Miss was run at 6 ½ furlongs in 1993, and at six furlongs thereafter.
