Fasig-Tipton to sponsor NYRA’s Fillies Turf Triple

by Pat McKenna

The Fasig-Tipton Company, Inc. and the New York Racing Association, Inc. (NYRA) today announced a two-year renewal for the oldest American auction house for thoroughbred horses to serve as the title sponsor of the Fasig-Tipton Fillies Turf Triple, a series of three important graded turf stakes for sophomore fillies.

For the 2023-24 seasons, Fasig-Tipton will serve as the named sponsor of the 1 1/4-mile Grade 1, $500,000 Fasig-Tipton Belmont Oaks Invitational on July 8 at Belmont Park; the Grade 3, $400,000 Fasig-Tipton Saratoga Oaks Invitational at 1 3/16-miles on August 4 at Saratoga Race Course; and the 11-furlong Grade 3 Fasig-Tipton Jockey Club Oaks Invitational to be held in 2023 during the Belmont at the Big A fall meet.

In addition, Fasig-Tipton will be the title sponsor of the restricted $135,000 Fasig-Tipton Lure at 1 1/16-miles on turf for older horses to be contested on Saturday, August 5 at Saratoga.

“We are very pleased to sponsor New York’s Fillies Turf Triple, expanding upon our decades long relationship with NYRA,” said Fasig-Tipton President Boyd Browning. “Fasig-Tipton is also synonymous with selling top fillies from around the globe, which makes this a very fitting sponsorship for us. Perhaps we will see some of these fillies again in future Fasig-Tipton sales.”

As part of the agreement, Fasig-Tipton becomes a preferred media partner for live racing at Aqueduct Racetrack, Belmont Park and Saratoga Race Course as part of America’s Day at the Races and Saratoga Live on FOX Sports.

“NYRA is pleased to partner with Fasig-Tipton, and we thank them for their continued support of thoroughbred racing in New York,” said Tony Allevato, NYRA Chief Revenue Officer & President of NYRA Bets. “Fasig-Tipton is part of the racing fabric and their auctions nationwide are the launching pad for the next generation of the sport’s superstars.”

The Grade 3 Fasig-Tipton Saratoga Oaks Invitational and Fasig-Tipton Lure will feature on a lucrative Whitney Weekend, slated for Friday, August 4 through Sunday, August 6, that offers eight stakes for combined purses of more than $3.6 million led by the Grade 1, $1 million Whitney on August 5. The Whitney, at 1 1/8 miles for older horses, offers an automatic berth to the Grade 1 Breeders' Cup Classic on November 4 at Santa Anita as part of the Breeders’ Cup “Win and You’re In” series.

The Whitney Weekend program will lead into the Fasig-Tipton Saratoga Sale on August 7-8 and the Fasig-Tipton New York-bred Yearlings Sale on August 13-14.
