Jackpocket announced as official mobile lottery partner of NYRA

by Pat McKenna

Jackpocket, the first and only licensed third-party app lottery app in the United States and the New York Racing Association, Inc. (NYRA) announced today their partnership establishing Jackpocket as the official mobile lottery partner of NYRA. In addition, Jackpocket becomes the title sponsor of the Grade 1, $400,000 Jackpocket Jaipur, set for Belmont Stakes Day on Saturday, June 5, at Belmont Park.

The 38th running of the Jackpocket Jaipur,a six-furlong turf sprint for 3-year-olds and up, is part of the Breeders’ Cup Challenge Series, with the winner guaranteed an automatic berth in the Grade 1 Breeders’ Cup Turf Sprint on November 5 at Del Mar Racetrack.

This partnership comes on the heels of Jackpocket’s New York launch in January 2021, and more recently on the Google Play Store.

Jackpocket gives New Yorkers an easy, secure way to order official state lottery tickets like Mega Millions, Powerball, Win 4 and more from their smartphones. In 2019, the New York Gaming Commission approved new regulations allowing digital lottery courier services to operate in New York. Jackpocket is the first and only officially-licensed New York courier service under the new regulatory framework.

“We’re proud to partner with the New York Racing Association in what we believe will be the start of a long and fruitful relationship,” said Jackpocket CEO Peter Sullivan. “NYRA is a true New York institution, thanks in part to storied tracks like Belmont Park, Saratoga Race Course and Aqueduct Racetrack, where the best in the sport have competed for decades.”

As part of the agreement, Jackpocket becomes a preferred partner of the Belmont Stakes and racing at Belmont Park and Saratoga Race Course.

Jackpocket also becomes the presenting sponsor of the Jackpocket Handicapping Challenges; a series of one-day high-stakes handicapping contests at NYRA tracks that require a $3,000 buy-in fee for each of the following marquee race days:

  • The Stars & Stripes Challenge presented by Jackpocket on July 3 at Belmont
  • The Whitney Challenge presented by Jackpocket on Aug. 7 at Saratoga Race Course
  • The Jockey Club Gold Cup Challenge presented by Jackpocket on September 4 at Saratoga Race Course
  • The Cigar Mile Challenge presented by Jackpocket on December 4 at Aqueduct Racetrack

“NYRA is pleased to partner with Jackpocket, and we thank them for their support of thoroughbred racing at Belmont Park and Saratoga Race Course,” said Tony Allevato, NYRA Chief Revenue Officer & President of NYRA Bets. “Horseplayers should look forward to an exciting slate of one day handicapping contests this spring and summer made possible by Jackpocket.”

Fans can download the Jackpocket app and use code “PONIES” at checkout to receive a free lottery ticket.

The Belmont Park spring/summer meet, which is highlighted by the 153rd running of the Grade 1, $1.5 million Belmont Stakes on Saturday, June 5, continues through July 11. Opening day at Saratoga Race Course is Thursday, July 15.
