Thursday’s card at Belmont at the Big A will be bolstered by a Pick 6 carryover of $44,860 after the multi-race wager went unsolved on Sunday’s nine-race program.
The $1 Pick 6 returned $8,999 to bettors who selected 5-of-6 winners correctly.
Sunday’s Pick 6 sequence kicked off in Race 4 as War Chrome [No. 3, $8.70] took a one-turn mile maiden claimer for New York-breds with Kendrick Carmouche aboard for trainer Michelle Giangiulio.
Conditioner Bruce Brown sent out the next winner with the Luis Rivera, Jr.-piloted Bertrille [No. 4, $138.50], who upset a 1 1/16-mile turf claimer at odds of 68-1, in Race 5. One race later, Jack and Jim [No. 3, $8.10] captured a 1 1/16-mile turf maiden for New York-breds, with Manny Franco in the irons for trainer Graham Motion, in Race 6.
In Race 7, a six-furlong state-bred maiden tilt, Bold Fortune [No. 8, $10.80] cruised to victory under Dylan Davis for trainer George Weaver. The first favorite of the sequence won next as Ever So Sweet [No. 5, $3.70*] took a six-furlong turf optional-claimer with Flavien Prat up for dual Eclipse Award-winning trainer Brad Cox, in Race 8.
With the carryover already guaranteed heading into the Race 9 finale, a 1 1/16-mile state-bred turf allowance, Being Betty [No. 1, $19.60] was ridden to victory by Jose Lezcano for conditioner Phil Serpe.
Thursday’s Pick 6 begins in Race 3 at approximately 2:07 p.m. Eastern, and features the state-bred $125,000 John Hettinger [Race 6]. First post on the eight-race card is 1:05 p.m.
